Sasha Kichigina talks to Harper's Bazaar UK about her love for music, ballet and Dolce & Gabbana

Every week, Bazaar's booking team highlights one name to note, from the industry's best-known faces to girls who are just starting out. This week, we turn our attention to Sasha Kichigina.

With a head of tumbling curls and doe eyes, Kichigina was an unmistakable presence on the runway for the autumn/winter 2016 European show season, with Valentino, Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana, Alberta Ferretti and Mulberry enlisting her for the catwalk.

"Sasha is that dream combination of looks and personality. Not only does she stand out with her wild mane of hair but she genuinely lights up a room when she walks in," says Susannah Hooker at Elite NYC.

We chat to the Belarusian beauty about shooting at Niagara Falls, listening to the Rolling Stones and learning ballet.

How were you discovered?

"My mum brought me to the model school casting in my hometown when I was just thirteen."

If you weren't modelling, what career would you pursue and why?

"I would pursue a career in art management and gallery business, or perhaps theoretical physics if I was a bit smarter. Science is the most inspiring thing a human can do, it's finding out something new about how the universe and life works."

What would you say has been the highlight of your career so far?

"It was such a privilege to open my very first show in New York for BCBG, and walking for Valentino was also an amazing experience."

How do you spend your free time?

"Singing, listening to The Rolling Stones and doing studies for university in between."

Do you have any travel tips for those visiting your hometown?

"You should visit Marc Chagall's house in Belarus where he was born and grew up as a child. You'll also be surprised by the amount of lakes around Vitebsk – they are simply everywhere and are so beautiful."

What are the three products you can't live without?

"Avène cold cream, no matter what season; that's the only one saviour for my skin. Using Mac Mineralize Concealer after the cold cream on cheeks and under eyes ensures my skin looks fresh and always results in compliments about my complexion. Bed Head is essential for my curls.'"

What's your favourite form of exercise?

"I've been doing ballet for a few months, but had to stop for the A/W 16 season. It's super hard if you do it properly but super cool. I wanted to die at the beginning of each lesson but the results were awesome."

What is your dream shoot?

"My dream shoot would be with photographer Patrick Demarchelier by Niagara Falls."

Name the five essential items you wouldn't leave the house without.

"Headphones, headphones, headphones, headphones, headphones. Even my keys and money are not as important. I'd rather spend the night on the floor after failing to open the door than a day without music."

If you had to wear only one label, who would it be?

"Dolce & Gabbana."

Let's talk about favourite's. What about…

…music?
"The Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Black Eyed Peas and Ella Fitzgerald."

…movies?
"Interstellar, all Marvel movies, The Boat That Rocked, Gia, Some like it Hot.'"

…books?
"Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Hard to Be a God by Strugatsky Brothers, The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins."

…food?
"Pizza, apple pies, chicken and avocado salads."
